Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

IMG_2697After a private email falls into the wrong hands Simon finds himself being blackmailed. If Simon doesn’t help his blackmailer the whole school will find out his secret, that he is gay. But not only that, the leaked email will expose Blue, an anonymous boy Simon has connected with over email. If Simon doesn’t want to risk a chance at love he has to find a way out of this mess.

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda is a coming out story, except it’s not; it’s so much more. This story is humorous and freaking adorable. It’s a really light, easy, and enjoyable read. I found that this book was very relatable.

It didn’t take me long to fall in love with Simon, and Blue. Their emails were full of easy banter but you could also see that they were very supportive of each other, despite not know each other’s real identity.

My Rating: 5/5
